Luka Sabbat x Monini: An SSENSE Exclusive Editorial

The Multi-Hyphenate Style Icon's Jewelry Collaboration As Imagined by Hot Mess

Luka Sabbat’s latest collaboration with Italian jewelry designer Gianni Monini symbolizes his playful childhood influences and experimental modern style. Sabbat, who grew up between Paris and New York, and who, at only 20 years old, has established himself as a sought after multi-hyphenate, shows no signs of slowing down. He prefers to keep his hands full—quite literally, too, with stacks of silver skulls and anime-inspired scythes encrusted with crystals. Maybe creating these talismans affords Sabbat a sense of reflection. Some clarity in these relentlessly collaborative times. Last year, Sabbat spoke to SSENSE about his future plans for Hot Mess: “More content, more shows, more clothes, more books.” In this editorial, he shares his vision for another project, his new jewelry collection, styled with Yohji Yamamoto, Y-3, and more.
