The Land Below the Wind

From the eastern coast of Borneo, photographers Sean + Seng boarded a small boat and drifted along the electric cyan of the South China Sea. In this paradise, they discussed the concept of functional dressing with the Bajau Laut fishermen of the Sulu Archipelago, who wear homemade balaclavas and burak face paint to protect themselves from the sun. The exchange points to the notion that both practicality and performance are universal concepts.
