Royal Academy of Antwerp graduate Glenn Martens worked under iconic French designer Jean Paul Gaultier and founded his own namesake label before taking the reigns at Parisian unisex label Y/Project in 2013. Extracting inspiration from an eclectic mélange of historical and subcultural references, the Belgian designer brings a radically experimental vision to the brand’s design frontier. Gender-bending silhouettes and unconventional constructions push the codes of creativity to new extremes in endlessly modifiable combinations. With an emphasis on innovation, Y/Project fuses street-culture energy into unisex looks while the label’s array of avant-garde accessories reimagines a new landscape for designer assets.
