LA-based Human Recreational Services (HRS) offers a refined take on contemporary skateboarding culture through the lens of footwear. With over twenty years of designing for powerhouse skatewear companies, pro skater and designer Erik Ellington launched HRS in 2018 with a clarified vision of utilitarian opulence. Now partnered with Paris-based designer Vaz Rajan, HRS showcases the prowess of the transatlantic collaboration through a defined range of men’s shoes. Modern takes on loafers, slip-ons, and mules are handmade in Italy using premium materials like crocodile box calf leather and calfskin. High-top and low-top sneakers are influenced by both classic menswear silhouettes and the curvature of skate shoes. With luxe neutral shades and occasional pops of animal print, the brand’s collection seamlessly blends the classic with the current.
