With tailored lines and characteristic detailing, modern menswear label Labrum London celebrates the West African and British heritage of designer Foday Dumbuya. A former design specialist for Nike and graduate of the London College of Fashion, Dumbuya founded Labrum in 2015. Carefully selected textiles, like Irish linen, and distinctive accents, such as ceramic buttons and hand-painted patterns, articulate the brand’s exploration-inspired artistry and acute attention to detail. As a nod to Dumbuya’s formative years in Sierra Leone, Cyprus, and London, the maxim “Designed by an Immigrant” is featured on the garment tags of almost every piece— lauding the immigrant’s role in the fabric of British life.
