Tom Sachs HOME

Tom Sachs has been an unmistakable fixture in the contemporary art world since his emergence in the mid-90s. The New York-based artist has leveraged his DIY ethos into a self-contained universe-spanning sculpture, film, bricolage, and industrial design. His early career recreations of ubiquitous icons have laid the foundation for an ongoing exploration of how things are made and how jobs get done. A living extension of the artist’s work, the Tom Sachs studio is a workshop in which a collective of bricoleurs build, solder, hot glue, and knoll according to a strict code known as the Ten Bullets. Sachs’s work has been included in many exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, and is in the collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and more.
