Rassvet HOODIES & ZIPUPS

Capturing the vibrancy of countless grueling skateboarding sessions under an imposing statue of Lenin by Moscow's Oktyabrskaya subway station, skatewear label Rassvet’s retro-futuristic aesthetic sprung from the streets of Russia and has struck a chord throughout the global underground. Friends, fellow skaters, and founders Tolia Titaev and Gosha Rubchinskiy would ritualistically congregate at this spot to talk skatewear before launching the brand in 2016. Rubchinskiy's namesake label has long been lauded for its sartorial depiction of post-Soviet iconography and Russian street culture, and, in the same tenor, Rassvet's idiosyncratic utilitarian menswear pops with colors and shapes inspired by avant-garde artists El Lissitzky and Kazimir Malevich. Crafted for comfort and durability, jersey t-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts abound with vivid references to vintage sci-fi culture and Soviet Olympic athletics. Half-zip sherpa tops and colorblocked long sleeve polos reference early 2000’s skate culture, with the label's Cyrillic PACCBET logo incorporated throughout collections. Rassvet, aptly translating to “sunrise”, signals the dawning of Russian skate and streetwear in Western fashion.
