Winnie New York T-SHIRTS
Designer Idris Balogun reshapes Savile Row-style tailoring into fluid menswear with his NYC-based brand, Winnie New York. Nigerian-born and raised in London, Balogun cut his teeth working for Burberry, Tom Ford, and on the legendary Savile Row where he landed his first apprenticeship at age fourteen. The label’s first showing in Paris 2020 displayed the techniques that one would expect from someone of Balogun’s pedigree, but with a notable nonchalant ease. His menswear is heavily informed by styles he remembers from his childhood in Nigeria. Suiting and sporty streetwear collide in neutral color palettes. By no means trend-driven, wool blazers and mohair cardigans hit the crosshairs between classic and everyday-cool. Felted wool trousers and cashmere trench coats are elegantly cut but pair easily with most any ensemble. Winnie’s ethos is simple: to expertly craft quality clothing for effortless daily wear.
