Co-founders and life partners Quang and Ellie Dinh’s mantra of crafting “clothes that matter to women who give a damn” came to fruition when they launched activewear label Girlfriend Collective in 2016. With certifiably traceable practices and fully transparent social and manufacturing operations, the design duo has built a womenswear brand that strives for complete sustainability. Crafted from ultrasoft yarns made from recycled post-consumer water bottles and certified eco-friendly dyes, the Seattle-based label’s range of high-performance apparel, including compression leggings, sports bras, and high-rise biker shorts, caters to seasoned yogis and fitness enthusiasts alike. An advocate for representation and diversity, the label’s inclusive and body-positive approach to design is reflected in its size-inclusive offerings. Girlfriend Collective’s belief in slow fashion, with the painstaking processes followed to construct fully recycled, environmentally-friendly sports garments, presents a dignified new chapter in activewear.
