Julia Heuer SHIRT
Julia Heuer’s pleats and patterns are instantly recognizable. Before launching her eponymous fashion house, Heuer was the Head of Print Design for the eminent textile company Jakob Schlaepfer, and her pattern design prowess shines through her ready-to-wear womenswear line. Colorways in pastel pinks and greens weave with rich umbers and primary blues to create vivid geometric prints and abstract floral textiles. Knee-length dresses with tapered waists are sleek and contemporary, while puffed sleeves lend a flair of theatricality. Garments are meticulously hand-pleated and dyed using the Japanese technique of Arashi Shibori, creating a hard-lined but delicate pleating effect on sleeves and skirts. Bold silhouettes challenge common tropes of feminine aesthetics throughout Julia Heuer’s designs, giving the wearer the chance to break the mould with panache, and pleats.
