Juliet Johnstone PANTS

When painter Juliet Johnstone traded her traditional art canvas for thrifted painter’s pants in 2020, she instantly gained a loyal online fanbase. After founding her eponymous label, her series of custom-made pants quickly evolved into a whimsical array of clothing painted by hand or digitally printed with original artwork. Johnstone cuts, sews, and dyes all garments in Los Angeles, producing tank tops, hats, sweats, hoodies, bathing suits, and custom denim staples. Fostering childlike nostalgia, the label features imagery of butterflies and flowers inspired by ʼ60s and ʼ70s concert posters and vintage botany books. Juliet Johnstone’s one-of-a-kind garments, constructed exclusively of upcycled materials, are works of art in fashion form.
