For Tokyo designer Kei Ninomiya, the creation process is the source of inspiration: elements of surprise and unexpected results that arise during garment construction. The former Comme des Garçons designer and patternmaker started his womenswear line in 2012, focusing on a sole color: black. Explored in a stunning range of shades, textures, and materials, black acts as a blank canvas for the intricate techniques Ninomiya employs in his quest for new ways to approach clothing forms.
