In her role as creative director at Recto, award-winning designer Ji Yeon Jung redefines contemporary elegance and functionality. The word recto refers to the right-hand page of an open book: an allusion to the potential of a blank page and the thin divide between gendered aesthetics. The streamlined simplicity of Recto ready-to-wear—exhibited in heavy cotton dresses, structured blazers, and tailored shirting—defines the brand’s tasteful, wearable, and versatile collections. Jung’s idiosyncrasies prevail in simple details like modified collars, self-tie fastenings, and extended hems.
