Pearls Before Swine ACCESSORIES
Canadian jeweler Himo Martin turns to unexpected and overlooked sources of beauty for inspiration. In 2006, Martin founded Pearls Before Swine as a way of experimenting with the cultured pearl industry’s traditional standards of beauty. Conventional perceptions of pearls and other gems are slashed - quite literally - in the form of sliced pearls, raw diamonds, and ‘imperfect’ Tahitian or Akoya pearls which embellish several pieces - from simple band rings to sculpted gold drop earrings. A unique electroplating process and 14k yellow or rose gold bring a delicate balance to the collection, accenting anything from chain link necklaces to thorn pendants. Martin combines an appreciation for precious metals and gems with a defiantly contemporary vision of fine jewelry.
