Rochas Homme
Encouraged by artistic contemporaries Jean Cocteau, Christian Berard, and Paul Poiret, Marcel Rochas founded his namesake couture house in 1925. Nearly a century later, the appointment of Federico Curradi as creative director of menswear in 2018 marked a new era for the French maison. Curradi presents a Parisian fantasy of creative flaneurs, whose movements and styling embody the nonchalance of elegant outsiders. Rochas Homme clothing—sumptuous knits, double-breasted velvet blazers, gently-tailored trousers—draws the eye without demanding attention. Accessories including baroque gold jewelry, wool watch caps, and polished leather belts accentuate without distracting. Curradi's hands-on approach, evident in his insistence on natural and cruelty-free materials and close relationships with northern Italian workshops, pays off in thoughtfully sensual collections.
