Defined by an eclectic sense of femininity, Tokyo-based label TOGA was founded in 1997 by Yasuko Furuta. The ESMOD graduate is best known for blending Western subcultural tropes with Japanese design concepts throughout her innovative collections. Shaped by the rockabilly scene in the town of Nagoya, Furuta has garnered a cult following for her vintage-inspired designs. Deconstructed silhouettes feature exaggerated cut-outs and asymmetric constructions. Knit net tops and cleverly tailored trousers exemplify the label’s playful high-low combinations. Audacious boots and sandals round out the collection with signature engraved hardware and buckle fastenings. A mash-up of streetwear-inspired styles and refined classics, TOGA offers a refreshing take on contemporary womenswear.
