After acquiring a wealth of industry experience as a designer for Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Dior, Alexandre Mattiussi founded his eponymous AMI label out of a desire to make clothes that better reflected his reality. This humble mission statement is on par with the designs that the label would later foster, pairing precise tailoring with an unwavering devotion to simplicity and immediacy. Inspired by the multitude of female clients who wear his men’s separates, Mattiussi debuted a womenswear line in 2017. Emulating the cumulative aspect of a personal wardrobe, each season finds newly-introduced pieces integrated alongside the brand’s recurring staples. Slim-cut trousers, button-up shirts, t-shirts, and hoodies are found on heavy rotation in AMI Alexandre Mattiussi’s women’s roster, while V-necks, turtlenecks, and crewneck sweaters knit from coy wools serve as smart essentials.
