Katya Zelentsova CARDIGANS

Born and raised in the Russian city of Volgograd, London-based designer Katya Zelentsova cleverly adapts regional knitting traditions with the excess of aughts nostalgia. Having cultivated her skills at Marc Jacobs and Burberry, the Central Saint Martins graduate borrows cues from the Russian pop icons of her childhood to create her evocative eponymous collection of lo-fi glamour. Crochet patterns in floral motifs bloom in a selection of vibrant hues. Sheer, layered nylon cardigans are outfitted with puff sleeves and built-in gloves, while patchwork knits find shape as sweaters and miniskirts. Katya Zelentsova designs are confidently expressive in their textures and playfully seductive in their bold perforations.
