Sacai SKIRTS
Before launching Sacai in 1999, Japanese designer Chitose Abe honed her technical know-how and keen eye for the avant-garde while working as a pattern cutter for Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe. Shortly after its inception, the Sacai womenswear label quickly earned industry acclaim owing to Abe’s technical deftness and expert ability to seamlessly splice disparate fabrics and textures into comprehensive silhouettes at once timeless and experimental. Sacai transforms knitwear, jackets, dresses, trousers, and blouses into novel design hybrids, while ruffles, patchwork, and asymmetric constructions add intellectual flourish to the label’s innovative yet elegant separates. A staple of Paris Fashion Week since 2009, Sacai captivates with its signature designs that continue to defy sartorial conventions.
