Copenhagen-based creative office NIKO JUNE creates quirky collectible homeware with a playful take on Scandinavian simplicity. The Danish studio leads a dual life: part handcrafted homeware atelier, part conceptual exhibition space, yet always experimental. Best known for its upcycled plastic vessels, the elusive studio’s methods involve hands-on, tactile collaboration, encouraging organic nuances unique to each piece. Upcycled water bottles are molded into visceral forms with translucent exteriors and sculpted into luminous vessels. One-off ceramic mugs, irreverent glassware, and minimalistic furniture are shaped by a multitude of hands and numbered in order of their production. NIKO JUNE approaches its objets d’art with conceptual intent, sustainable procedures, and an idiosyncratic attitude to produce unique pieces with lasting quality.
