Marni T-SHIRTS

Founded by Consuelo Castiglioni in 1994, luxury label Marni carved a space in the fashion landscape by imbuing modern classics with a quirky bohemian inflection, characterized by retro color stories and free-spirited play with luxurious fabrics and furs. A 2016 changing-of-the-guard led by Central Saint-Martins alumni and creative director Francesco Risso sees the label's codes invigorated with a spirit of irreverence and anti-conformity. Culling inspiration from sources as varied as the early twentieth-century Dada art movement, childhood memories, and the Japanese deconstructionists, Risso extends the Italian womenswear label’s sartorial vocabulary. Merging the radiant colors and offbeat quality of Castiglioni-era Marni with elements of the art world and a complete rejection of industry conventions, the label continues to evolve while remaining firmly entrenched in its roots. Modern-day staples including Marni’s iconic Trunk and Pannier leather handbags capture the label’s distinctive quirkiness. Playful prints and textbook colorblocking adorn women’s staples such a turtlenecks, pencil skirts, graphic t-shirts, relaxed trousers, and wool coats.
