Saks Potts
Named after founders Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts, Danish womenswear brand Saks Potts was established in 2013 with the sole ambition to provide women with a wardrobe staple: a fur coat that is both current and intended to have timeless appeal. The label quickly attained cult status as outerwear modernisers, its instantly arresting patent lambskin and soft wool designs, donned by industry insiders and A-list celebrities alike, becoming a street style marvel. Winning two Elle Style Awards, including 2018 Brand of the Year, within its first five years, Saks Potts’ has cemented its standing as a womenswear mainstay. With respective BA’s in Art History and Fashion Design and Tailoring from the University of Copenhagen, Potts and Saks, both born in 1993 and raised in Copenhagen, complement one another wholly, a fact that is evident in the duo’s unlikely but shared inspirations including Danish architecture, Lady Diana, the Olympics, and vintage furniture. The brand’s questing spirit to side-step stereotypically clean Scandinavian aesthetics has brought upon playful designs that exhibit effervescent personality in bright and uncommon colors as well as zany graphic patterns. Various classic feminine keystones, like shearling, polka dots, fitted two-piece ensembles, fox fur trim, and flattering fits and cuts, impart an enduring appeal to ultra-modern collections.
