London-based Chinese designer Yuhan Wang debuted her namesake label with talent incubator Fashion East in 2018. Wang studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins, honing her skills working with Marni and JW Anderson. The brand’s delicate and rebellious designs explore Asia’s traditional standards of feminine beauty and their connection to Western culture. Exaggerated silhouettes, embroidered etchings, bright colors, and prints reminiscent of Chinese landscape paintings are eye-grabbing features of this label’s offerings. Gloves, dresses, and removable collars are made in flocked and embroidered floral lace with ruched detailing, while blazers and skirts feature jacquard-woven check patterns.
