Folie à Plusieurs

Spearheaded by multidisciplinary creative director Kaya Sorhaindo, Folie à Plusieurs explores scent as a communicative medium. Since founding the visionary perfume brand in 2014, Sorhaindo has synthesized his past experience in the arts, fashion, and publishing industries to forge a dedicated following for the aesthetically refined project. Equal parts art practice and parfumerie, Folie à Plusieurs fosters conceptual experimentation through its unique call-and-response process. International artists of all ilks are invited to respond to a work of art—its materials, emotions, and thematics—and reinterpret the piece as a scent. Working collaboratively with in-house perfumers, the artists’ concepts are translated into fragrances laden with indolic florals and earthy musks. With aromatic descriptions like “moving behind a cloud of fog to the music in an abandoned warehouse,” Folie à Plusieurs highlights the viscerally emotive qualities of olfaction.
